I like to get my health on every now and again (getting better every day!), so I was pretty pumped to try Red Ace. It’s basically beet juice – in fact, one bottle has the juice equivalent of three beats. Add in a little lemon juice and you’ve got something that is not only pretty tasty, it also helps with circulation, stamina and more (and leaves a nice little red tint to your lips). Whuuuut.
From the website:
For athletes, there has never been a drug, substance, or steroid that could increase energy extraction from oxygen, until now! Red Ace Organic Beet Juice supplement allows athletes to have better improved oxygen delivery to their muscles. Red Ace Organic Beet Juice supplement improves lung function to allow bigger breaths, and strengthening of the heart boosting cardiac output and blood flow. Your body might even start making more red blood cells to boost the oxygen caring capacity of the blood.
The conversion to Nitrate to Nitric Oxide is what causes dilation or widening of the blood vessels. In 1998, the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine went to three pharmacologists who discovered the importance of naturally occurring Nitric Oxide or NO in the human body. The ability to improve the elasticity of the blood vessels could allow better delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the entire body.
Research suggests, drinking beetroot juice, or consuming other nitrate-rich vegetables, is a simple way to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.
Oh, snap. I’m all about a healthy cardiovascular system. I do notice I have more energy when I have one of these in the morning, which is great – I need all the energy I can get. Plus, the bottles are glass and they can be washed out and kept, if you’re a hoarder and like tchotchkes like I do.
