ITEM OF THE DAY Item of the Day: Obol®, the Original Crispy Bowl
Mary Dacuma

Cereal is the proverbial thorn in the paw of a slow eater. Trust me, I love waking up to a bowl of cold, healthy skim milk and sweet, crunchy Honey Nut Cheerios. It’s absolute bliss – for about three minutes. And then you are stuck with wet, non-appetizing mush. How am I supposed to start my day off right with those kinds of time constraints?

That is where the Obol® comes in. The bowl’s trademarked Swoop and Scoop® design allows you to keep each flake dry until you are good and ready to take the next bite. Your cereal will never be soggy again! The Obol® is also great for chips and dip, milk and cookies, hot cheetos and ranch dressing (don’t even judge me right now) or whatever food combinations require a plastic wall of separation that has been so lacking in centuries of bowl design – until now, of course.

The Obol® is manufactured in the USA. It’s made of BPA-free, unbreakable polypropylene so it is kid and dishwasher safe. The Obol® website has a list of retailers who sell the product for about $19.99 plus shipping, which may seem silly for a bowl. But it’s a small price to pay for crunchy cereal! (Just kidding, it’s a high price to pay. But it’s still pretty nifty.)

Yes. To all of it.
