I came to makeup late in life. I never wore it as a teenager, and until the past couple of years or so, I only really owned lip gloss and mascara. I still don’t know how to put on eyeliner (IT DOESN’T WORK, OKAY) and I don’t think I’ll ever understand why you should line your brows (HELP, SOMEONE!), but I’m in a major makeup phase of my life right now.
MAC is synonymous with the word makeup. It’s one of the best brands out there, so it’s not hard to love their products. Because I’m also a big Rihanna fan, I decided to order a tube of their new Viva Glam Rihanna edition lipstick – which was described as a “blue-red with a frost finish” – despite the fact that I’ve never worn a bright colour lipstick in my life.
Turns out: I LOVE IT SO MUCH, and more than that, it actually looks amazing on me – so much so that I actually ordered a back-up tube an anticipation of it selling out (which it will) and the matching tinted lipglass to wear over it. The wear is incredibly long; it’s about 2 in the afternoon and I’ve still got a nice bit of it left (and that’s after an iced coffee and several pints of water). The price isn’t bad, either – $15 for the gloss and $16 for the lipstick, a portion of which goes to men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS, which is a cause I think we can all get behind.
MAC Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick is available here – get yours before it sells out (and please keep me from spending all my money on makeup).
