I love YA books. I really do.
At any given time I am USUALLY reading two books (one on my iPad, one IRL) and one of the books is usually a YA book. I’ll pretty much try any YA series at any given time.
So when I heard about Jane Jones: Worst Vampire Ever, I JUMPED on it. A nerdy vampire female main character who’s allergic to blood? Amazing.
It didn’t hurt that I knew the author, hilarious Caissie St. Onge, from Twitter (and really, we should know each other in real life because we work within the same large company but we don’t). I hold my internet relationships very dear and made a point to buy her book and give it a read this summer.
Just read her bio: CAISSIE ST. ONGE is an Emmy-nominated comedy writer who’s worked for The Late Show with David Letterman, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, as well as a bunch of shows you probably haven’t heard of (but that’s okay). Caissie’s written lots of other stuff, too, including commercials for soap, ice cream, and cell phones that starred some bigshot Hollywood celebrities, plus an infomercial for collectible coins that starred a prominent Pennsylvania numismatist. (But enough bragging.) Caissie lives in Connecticut with her husband and two sons, in a town that’s a lot like the one described in these pages, but she’s not a vampire . . . yet. This is Caissie’s first novel.
It’s everything you’d want from a YA book about vampires – you know, vampires who DON’T sparkle. It’s hilarious and scary and interesting and really approaches the idea of vampires from a new way.
Also, hello, I can totally relate to Jane Jones and her feeling of not fitting in.
I also always love book trailers and the one for Jane Jones: Worst Vampire Ever is so cute!
