Renee Patron, designer and founder of accessory company, Banago, is selling her Malaya tote to contribute to typhoon relief in the Philippines.
Patron, a Filipina herself, was in the Philippines when Yolanda/Haiyan hit. Although the storm destroyed her family’s home, they were fortunate enough to make it out safe and alive.
Despite her family’s good fortune and safety, her community is still suffering from the devastating effects of this super-storm. In an effort to alleviate the pain in her community, Patron is giving you the opportunity to donate in exchange for her beautifully hand-woven Malaya tote.
According to Banago,
Your donation will help to heal and rebuild the towns that were affected by typhoon Yolanda, most especially on the islands of Samar and Leyte, and handled only by members of the Banago team. Company founder Renee Patron, who was there throughout the whole storm, will be personally distributing your donations towards food, shelter, and medicine with the help of Tina Dy, Sonny Patron, and Remy Patron.
Please note that only the Malaya tote is being used for donation purposes at this time.
