If you’re anything like me, not only are you a late 20-something with a love of afternoon naps, you also probably have interests in the geekier end of the spectrum and think that it’d be pretty cool to be a wizard. I can’t count how many times I’ve tried to liven up a conversation with the question, “What’s your favourite Harry Potter spell?” only to meet generally blank stares.
In any case, you may not be able to produce your own Patronus charm, but our friends at ThinkGeek are doing us one better by allowing you to control your TV via wand!
The wand – which looks as good as any you’d see at Ollivanders – learns up to thirteen commands from your normal TV remote, each of which are executable by various flicks and twists. In addition, you can apparently program this thing to work with any appliance which uses a remote control, including DVD players or stereos.
