ITEM OF THE DAYItem of the Day: Maine Balsam Fir PillowsAnnie Stamell

Okay, now this might not appeal to everyone, but for anyone who grew up in Maine or spent time there (or just about anywhere in New England, for that matter) – and especially for those of you who went to summer camp in Maine (and I will concede I both grew up in Maine and went to camp there!) then there is nothing unlike the smell of pine trees! I miss that smell so much here in LA where I now live, but thanks to the pine pillows I have scattered around my room, I can feel like I’m back home even when I’m 3,000 miles away. I’ve gotten my pine pillows from L.L. Bean whenever I’m back in town for the holidays. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like you can buy them from L.L. Bean’s website (apparently they are store-only!) but I did find another site — Winterberry Cottage, where you can order these delightful indulgences from anywhere!

  1. I’m from Maine too! I’m in the Air Force and stationed overseas. I miss home! This would be wonderful to have. Just a small piece of my childhood. :)
