I’m the one who was guilty of posting my beloved Owl Welcome Mat as Item of the Day awhile back, so this Item of the Day shouldn’t be a huge surprise. I mentioned it before, and I’ll mention it again – My Mom was big into owls, so I think the appeal is hereditary.
I’m also guilty of not receiving one, but two animal hats this year for Christmas, one in bunny form, and one black bear – with paws! – which was, thankfully, a knockoff of the “I can’t completely pull this off, but I can’t help but be drawn to it” SpiritHoods. While a big fan of winter hats, the animal hats definitely get preferential treatment.
Thus, this Item of the Day is a no-brainer. And bonus – it’s from Etsy, which, as you know, is an amazing resource to connect with a billion talented artists, knitters and creative types in general.
Crocheted by Etsy contributor swellamy (Amy Kleinpeter, who has a bunch of adorable offerings in her store), this hat is available in custom colors and sizes, and at a super reasonable price. I am a firm believer that you’re never too old to sport a hat like this. (But if the tassels are too much, they can be made without. It depends on how conservative you prefer your owl, really.)
Being that it’s been an unreasonably warm winter on the East Coast, I have a feeling this hat will be extremely useful when it randomly starts snowing in July.
(I’m no meterologist, but just wait. It’ll end up happening.)
