ITEM OF THE DAY Item Of The Day Tatti Ribeiro

Oh, American Girl dolls. I’m not trying to brag, but I had a pretty epic American Girl collection growing up. Now my little sister has them all and gets to add her own to the collection. American Girls are the best because they are so well made. All of their clothes are like real people clothes but miniature. American Girl also does this thing where they have a new doll that’s limited each year called “Girl Of The Year”. Check out this year’s doll, Kanani!

  1. I still have my American Girl, Kit along with her wardrobe box and chair :) Love it!

  2. I’m so glad I’m not the only grown woman in the world who still loves American Girls dolls!

  3. when felicity was released, i went to her launch tea party in williamsburg, virginia. i loved those dolls so much and i’m pretty sure that my mother bought kitt and has her hiding in a closet somewhere at my parents’ house because that kitt looks just like me! so yes, this post made my day.

  4. my mom couldn’t afford to get us these dolls but my daughter just read this article with me so now i think we’ll start our own collection.

  5. I live in Scotland and I have a Molly doll that I love too much. If only the postage over here wan’t so extortionate!

  6. One year for Christmas my parents got me Molly. It was kinda a big deal. I soon played with her so much the braids came out. I was so upset that I thought myself how to french braid. I must say that ability to french braid was the most important thing I ever learned from American Girl, and I guess all that History stuff too.

  7. Molly is the best! She was geeky and PROUD OF IT! There was a pretty epic article about Molly being awesome in The Washington Post a few days ago. I got my Molly doll for christmas when I was 2. (My sister was getting one, and my grandma didn’t want me to be jealous, so yeah it was weirdly age inappropriate.)

    • BTW my sister got Samantha and OF COURSE she kept her hair just perfect. My doll had to go to the “Doll Hospital” and get a head transplant her hair was so tangled. Story of my life.

  8. I question why the doll has blonde hair and is obviously caucasian?

  9. BB I’m not trying to brag but I went to the American Girls store in NYC, soooooo….I think we both know who’s really cool here. It’s this girl who went with her dad to the American Girl store.
