ITEM OF THE DAY
Item Of The Day

“Ordinary people and disposable objects” is Idan Friedman’s set of portraits made on foil trays. I absolutely love the craftsmanship and detail in his work. Friedman is based in Israel and makes other forward-thinking furniture, jewelry, and lighting at his studio Reddish. These particular sculptures grabbed me because the portraits are reminiscent of historical figures on medals and coins, yet the people pictured are not recognizable and the material used is disposable, almost suggesting that ordinary people sometimes deserve such permanence. Check out Friedman’s Flickr set here.
