Perfume is the best. Nothing else can evoke memories and feelings in quite the same way as the olfactory sense, and considering that I’m nostalgic to a fault, perfume is a bit of an obsession for me.
But it’s not enough to smell good – the notes of whatever scent I wear have to be blended just right, have to dry down on my skin in a way that doesn’t become too sharp but is still present hours down the line. I won’t go into my criteria for selecting fragrances, though, as I’d like you to get through reading this entire piece.
The point is, Costume National’s new PoP Collection exceeds all of my requirements for an amazing perfume. With notes of grapefruit, blackcurrant, raspberry, rose and jasmine, it’s light and somewhat sweet without being cloying. It’s just fun, if a perfume can be such a thing.
In addition to smelling amazing, they’ve added an extra element of fun in terms of packaging – not only is the bottle ultra modern and funky (did I just say funky? God help me!) but you also don’t know which of the four colours yours will be until you open the box! It’s like a Christmas surprise every day of the year! Or whatever day you open your box of perfume, you know. Mine was the deep blue, by the way.
If you’ve got a perfume lover in your family/group of friends or if you’re it, grab a bottle of this stuff – you’ll feel fancy (and “funky”, apparently) in no time!
