My item of the day is super important in a harmful UV-Ray kind of way. Sunglasses aren’t just an important accessory, they actually protect the windows of your soul from imminent ozone damage. Personally, I tend to like my sunglasses the same way I like my men, “large and in charge.” Okay, that’s a joke: beautiful sunglasses come in all shapes and sizes. My boy Socrates once said, “Know Thyself” and I couldn’t agree more. Following Socrates’ ancient advice, I know that a classic and/or modern take on the aviator frame works totally well with my face!
One day, several months ago, I walked into the Solstice at the Beverly Center and my eyes were immediately drawn to the Tom Ford section of the sunglasses wall. Scanning the wall, I spotted these gorgeous, modern black aviator-framed sunglasses (with a perfect black-grey lenses). After I tried them on, I knew I had to have them, but I couldn’t wrap my head around spending $500 for a pair of sunglasses. So I walked away from them, and it’s true what they say: walking away from true love is totally heart-wrenching and soul crushing.
Still, I thought about my true love-my Tom Ford “Ace” Sunglasses. Sadly, I’m not Dana Wilkey of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, who spent $25,000 on “gold and python” sunglasses (gauche!); my sunglasses-budget is just slightly more humble. Thankfully, there is this wonderful entity called “eBay”, which I used for the very first time to buy my Tom Ford “Ace” Sunglasses.
Initially, I was quite hesitant to use eBay: I had never it used it before and I was scared they were going to send me fake sunglasses (baby doesn’t wear fakes). Despite my fears, I purchased my Tom Ford “Ace” Sunglasses at an extremely reasonable price, and when I opened the box and saw the majestic beauty of my “Ace” (and the authenticity card), I knew it was the right decision. And I couldn’t be happier or more in love!
Officially, I’m aware that my aviator shades are a little Angelyne-esque (maybe meeting her rubbed off on me?), but sometimes life can be a crazy deck of cards, and it’s always good to find an Ace!
If you’re feeling luxurious, you can grab yours at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Oh guys-correction: I do wear fake $10 Raybans (TIL I D.I.E.)! Just an fyi.
Thanks Amy! It’s really Marilyn in the background that inspires all of my “glamor” and bold fashion/hair choices! We really owe her the credit!
You really do know thy face, and high five on your sunnies choice! Can’t go wrong with some TFs. But I was really thinking: Dynamite Hairdo, Edward.
J’adore you Ingrid!!!
