ITEM OF THE DAYItem of the DayJennifer Still

You all are probably wondering what’s wrong with me at this point, with all my talk about dry skin. So what! It’s a real concern, okay? Especially in the colder months. So you can imagine my delight when I discovered the J.R. Watkins line of products – particularly their shea butter body creams.

You may have seen the line at your local Target – they do everything from body care to natural seasonings and baking ingredients and are well worth the money. Priding themselves on using all natural ingredients in ALL of their products, you can’t go wrong.

But back to the body cream. I personally love the Aloe & Green Tea scent, but they come in several more – including mango, vanilla, lemon and lavender. Since they contain shea butter, it really soaks into your skin and locks in the moisture. I just put some on this morning and it feels like I’vo only just applied it!

I’ve mostly used this on my hands and feet (it’s definitely become part of my at-home pedicure process – I lather it on and then put a pair of spa socks on to let it really do its job), but it’s also great for the rest of your body as well.

If that wasn’t enough, it’s completely sulfate, paraben, dye, patrolatum and phthalate free! Can’t get much better than that. And with all natural ingredients, a little goes a long way, making the $9.99 price tag more than worth it.

They also make an incredible line of lip tints which I’m absolutely addicted to – just a slight bit of colour (great for those of us not big on make-up) with that peppermint tingle you’d get from other chapsticks – super moisturising and long lasting… and only $4.99 each!

You can head to the J.R. Watkins website to shop online, or hit up your local Target to find their products.

  1. OKKKKAY if you have a dry skin problem, especially on face and scalp, BOY DO I HAVE A PRODUCT FOR YOU. Soak n’ Float Hard Shampoo made by Lush (lushusa.com). I have such severe dry scalp problems that I often wind up washing my hair twice a day (yes, twice. a. day.) in order to not be embarrassed everywhere I go. My dry scalp was consuming my life – influencing what I wore and how I wore it and had me worried about when during the day I could get home to wash my hairs. A patient at the hospital I work for told me about Lush products and I am HOOKED. Soak n’ Float is 100% vegetarian, not at all unreasonable price-wise, and really took care of an issue I’d had for a while of which I was tremendously embarrassed.

  2. YESSS!!! I love this stuff… and I highly recommend J.R. Watkins Hand & Body Lotion in the Lemon Cream scent. It smells edible! :) I use it at my desk when my co-workers’ stinkiness gets to me!
