Milk and Cookies and an Instant Movie Instant Movie: ‘Drive Me Crazy' (1999) Myrna Valadez

Falling in love with your next door neighbor has been a premise for romantic comedies since the dawn of time. It’s crossed over to different types of entertainment and it’s even a type of of fashion statement (with the girl next door look being a favorite for the adolescent boys). This movie is just that – a romantic comedy about falling in love with the boy and girl next door. Drive Me Crazy has taken the rom-com formula and paired it with funny one liners to make an addicting and cheesy movie! Check out Drive Me Crazy because you don’t want to miss:

  1. Our favorite primetime witch from the ’90s, Melissa Joan Hart – or, if you grew up in the ’90s you might know her as Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.
  2. Before running the streets of Hollywood as Vincent Chase, Adrian Grenier was Chase Hammond, the bad boy next door.
  3. This brilliant dialogue. Chase: I didn’t expect you to fall in love. The dreaded ex: I didn’t expect you to fall into the Gap.
  4. The Donnas. It’s not a ’90s teen flick without the The Donnas playing at the school dance
  5. Lastly, this film is based on a book. Let’s feel smart together.

So, lets take a trip back to a time and place where the hottest accessory was a pager and we were all singing along to The Backstreet Boys. Milk and cookies never tasted better when paired with a great movie!

  1. I love this movie. My college roommates and I saw it at least 6 times in the theater. And of course I snatched it right up when I saw it in the $5 bin at Walmart. I never realized it was written by Rob Thomas…that certainly explains my obsession! Just can’t get enough!

  2. I LOVE this movie to a rather embarrassing degree.

  3. When this came out, I brought it to ALL the sleepovers. I watched it again recently, and holy hell turn of the millenium nostalgia, featuring plastic furniture, zig-zag parts, cropped tops and terrible straight legged drawstring pants. Guilty of all of the above!

  4. ahhh Memories~Me and my cousin rented this movie in VHS lol~all thoes days when I had no responsibility, school, homework and being a kid lol~

  5. This movie was written by Pre-Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas (hence the witty dialogue), however the original author was apparently pissed about the interpretation. In this case, the movie turned out better in my opinion. PLUS, we are all forgetting Britney Spears nostalgia! They were in the music video for “You Drive Me Crazy” (though the Donnas were the musical highlight).

  6. this was the first pg13 movie I ever saw. I don’t care how cheesy it is or how outdated it gets, it will ALWAYS be one of my top movies!

  7. How could you not bring up Clarissa explains it all?! Haha that’s what I think of when I see Melissa Joan Hart.

  8. Just watched this movie a few days ago! Mom caught me laughing at the cheesy lines and cheesy story and asked me why I still watched it if I find it silly. A. Nostalgia B. Adrien Grenier
