If there’s anything I’ve learned from playing games like The Sims, it’s that health is one of the most important things in life. Sure, it’s nice to look great, but it’s how you feel on the inside that really counts. Your Sim might have the coolest red high tops and blue bow tie on the block, but if he’s a sad, dirty sack who doesn’t bathe and wets themselves, he’s not going to be a happy camper. And aren’t we humans greater than a Sim? I’d like to think so.
As humans, we have to pay greater attention to our health than simply bathing and remembering to go the bathroom. We have to eat right and exercise to feel our absolute best. And yet we also have to occasionally treat ourselves – read a book, watch TV, or eat an entire cake alone in the bathroom. Relaxation promotes our mental health. In order to be the best we can be, we need to find the balance between our healthy self and our relaxed self. Is such a balance even possible?
