Mangomini's Illustrated How-Tos

How To Live Like A French Girl

French women are known for their great, seemingly effortless style, that certain “je ne sais quoi”. The good news is that stealing a bit of their style is not so difficult. They believe in “less is more”, great quality basics and natural looking hair and make-up. Oh, and they like to enjoy life with great food and wine. Here is my illustrated guide to living a little bit of the French girl’s lifestyle. See you next week!

As a French woman, I agree with the “less is more”, good basics and natural make up. We do not though wear Breton striped and go around with baguettes all the time.

I’m surprised there’s not undergarments on here! The French philosophy “Look good on the inside, to look great on the outside” always stuck with me, so I make sure my lingerie is classy and beautiful!

I am a parisian girl, and you are right ! We do love simple things ! But we certainly are not eating croissant everyday, that’s for sure. But you’re totally right about the skinny jeans and flats, even when it’s raining or snowing, I am wearing them.

We spent five days on the Riviera, and shopped in a little boutique there. The women who worked there dressed beautifully in very expensive clothes. They wore the same outfits for all five days! Americans would be worried that they needed to wear something different every day – these women were confident enough to know when they looked fabulous, and didn’t care if they repeated themselves.
