Playlist of the Week Housework and Chores Corinne Caputo

Some of the lovely readers on the forums requested a playlist to listen to when working on housework and I love this idea! Housework is just a small term that really means “the worst.”

Laundry is the worst. Swiffer-ing is the worst. Windex-ing anything the worst. (Can you tell that I’m not a huge fan of cleaning?) Honestly, I haven’t done laundry in a such a long time that I won’t even admit to you how long it’s been. I’m short on towels and socks but I have absolutley no motivation to finally take care of it. Why would I want to wash these clothes when I can browse Etsy, paint my nails, or do literally anything else.

I previously made a playlist on how to stay focused which I suppose is applicable to housework but I think the following songs are better for cleaning and laundry and such.

Songs For Chores

Empire- Jukebox The Ghost

Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)- Arcade Fire

The Ballad of Me and My Friends- Frank Turner

Ships In The Night- Mat Kearney

She Doesn’t Get It- The Format

This River Is Wild- The Killers

Hurts Like Heaven- Coldplay

Boy With a Coin- Iron And Wine

If You Can Afford Me- Katy Perry

Better Than This- Charlotte Sometimes

We Are The Tide- Blind Pilot

Lonely Boy- The Black Keys

As usual feel free to request future playlist and songs in the comments below! Also, Spotify has a cool feature where you can send other users some of your favorite tracks, so send me yours! I’m looking for new songs to put on future playlists. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

  1. I usually use No Doubt :)

  2. My favorite thing to do is dance around my room like a crazy person, usually when getting ready. What about a morning pick me up playlist for all of us night owls? I particularly like “Someday” by the strokes for this sort of situation.

  3. Good morning!

Although I like the tracks so far, I just can’t see myself cleaning to them. Perhaps just a personality difference?

I would clean better to music that is ‘faster’ to get my blood pumping so I can ‘git r done’.

For example, I used The Matrix soundtrack my senior year of college to get my programming work done (I know that’s not the same as housework lol).

But you know, some Skrillex, Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta – stuff like that?

I do appreciate you posting Spotify lists though!
