HOORAY FOR THE FAN-PIRES! On my way to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere, the unthinkable happened… The zipper on my dress got stuck, leaving the whole side completely open. Not having enough time to stop, change or do anything about it, I rushed through the huge LA Live complex downtown towards the premiere, when I was stopped by a smiling girl wearing a Twilight t-shirt. “Would you like me to help pin that up for you?” she asked. “Oh gosh yes thank you!” I replied, and a few safety pins later, I was good to go and happy to pretend I was channelling Elizabeth Hurley circa 1994.
For me, that small encounter sums up the fans of Twilight. Say what you will about them, it’s so rare to see a huge group of people who are so devoted to one thing, yet so nice to each other. This final Twilight premiere was packed with fans who had camped out for days, and felt like a celebration of them and the entire franchise instead of just one movie. So, dress fixed, I grabbed the cast to talk about ending the franchise, and the love they have for the fans.
