Wonderful! I was so happy to see that someone else was infatuated by powerful ladies of the past. I am obsessed with all the television shows and movies concerning them. No Marie Antoinette? Why is this?

LOVED The Tudors. I totally went through withdrawl after I marathoned the show this summer. (Thank you instant Netflix!)

For books I'd recommend The Lymond Chronicles by Dorothy Dunnett with some reservations. The six books of the series are probably some of my favorite books ever but they are also crazy complicated. If you don't know what's happening like 100 pages into the first book, that's normal. You figure things out by the end though! LOL! I've heard Philippa Gregory is good although I haven't read anything by her. On the nonfiction historical tab I really enjoyed "Elizabeth and Mary: Cousins, Rivals, Queens" by Jane Dunn.

As for movies, despite Cate Blanchett being PERFECTION I'd stay away from Elizabeth. It really plays confusingly fast and loose with history. Elizabeth I, the mini-series with Helen Mirren, is pretty awesome though. Anne of the Thousand Days is also a good Anne Boleyn movie. And The Borgias is my new historical TV obsession. <3
