Who speaks other languages?

Postby Ptree82 » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:38 am

One of my new year's resolutions is to count to ten in ten languages. So far I have English, French, Spanish, Sign Language, Latin, Japanese and Italian. Can anyone else add some other cool languages to this list for me please?

I can add in Hebrew! I used to be able to count to ten in 8 languages but now it's down to four.
And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.
And have no thorns to distance me,

but be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

I can do it in 8, the ones you don't have are: Slovene, Croatian, German and Dutch (I can only write the first two)
Slovene: ena, dve, tri, štiri, pet, šest, sedem, osem, devet, deset.
Croatian: jedan, dva, tri, četiri, pet, šest, sedam, osam, devet, deset.
They're quite similar...
Not sure if this helped, since there's no pronunciation :(

Thanks! That does help because I'm working on memorizing Russian and they are quite similar. Plus I can use google translate for the pronunciations to be sure.

Well, the only thing different is the pronunciation, but apparently Slovene is such an exotic language they don't have the audio option on google translate :P

But you're welcome :D

Which languages do you actually speak?

I can count to ten in English, French, Spanish, Sign Language, Latin, Japanese and Italian but I only actually speak English fluently. You would think after studying Spanish in high school and college I would be better at it but since I haven't done anything with it in 7 years it has completely fallen out of my head.

english is my only 100% fluent language right now, unfortunately. I spoke french as a child, but I've lost so damn much of it since I don't use it often. I speak very limited tsalagi, but I do know how to count!

1, ᏐᏬ (sowo)
2, ᏔᎵ (tali)
3, ᏦᎢ (tsoi)
4, ᏅᎩ (nvgi)
5, ᎯᏍᎩ (hisgi)
6, ᏑᏓᎵ (sudali)
7, ᎦᎵᏉᎩ (galiquogi)
8, ᏧᏁᎳ (tsunela)
9, ᏐᏁᎳ (sonela)
10, ᏍᎪᎯ (sgohi)
