Hey everyone!
In August my sisters and I are taking a trip to D.C. and NYC, we've got places to stay lined up but I wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on food and things that are a must see/must do in those citites and any general info that you think I need to know! Any and all info is helpful :D

In DC, you should definitely go to the Hirshhorn art museum, it's so cool. If you want to have a picnic or something one day, the National Arboretum is awesome too, lots of gorgeous plants if you're into that kind of stuff. DC rocks! Have fun!
Why is it that hard to spell?

Oh man where do I begin?? Have you been to NYC before? There are the basic touristy spots that are kind of a must-have but my personal local favorites are http://xianfoods.com/ the greatest noodle shop I've ever been to. It's tiny and you'll probably have to stand outside to eat but oh my goodness its worth it. Right around the corner from there is NYC's longest operating bar http://www.mcsorleysnewyork.com/ You should check out some street fairs which always have interesting food and stuff to buy http://www.nycstreetfairs.com/sched.html

Time Out NY puts out this list for every season and it's full of great stuff and a lot of it is free like concerts, movies in the park, shakespeare in the park and really random but cool stuff http://www.timeout.com/newyork/things-t ... -city-2012

Let me think of more and I'll get back to you. This was just right off the top of my head.

Oh awesome! How long are you staying in each? I've actually only been to DC once when I was a kid. My friend and I were talking about going down in August to watch the Mets/Nationals game but we're going to play it by ear.

I'm very excited for you though! Going to new places is so much fun.

I really liked D.C. I went for the Rally to Restore Sanity a couple of years ago. I only got to spend a couple of days there but I want to go back soon. Capitol Hill is full of stuff to see, bars, and restaurants. http://tedsbulletin.com was awesome and they have alcoholic milkshakes. ALCOHOLIC MILKSHAKES, PEOPLE! Also the zoo is free and it has the cutest pandas imaginable so go say hi.

I think the Bronx Zoo is better than the Central Park Zoo but the CP Zoo will be a lot easier for you to get to since I would imagine you're staying in Manhattan. Plus there are a million other things to do in CP anyway and there really isn't anything else around the Bronx Zoo.

I went to NY back in January and had the most amazing time, It's so much fun!

Food wise I would recomend Katz's Deli (It's where they filmed When Harry Met Sally), you can sit at the table and they also have really good food.
Time Square is a must, go at night because it is so amazing with all the lights. Central Park, if you are into art go to The Met, Rockefeller Center (for $25 you can go to the top). That is pretty much the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Have fun!
