Hunger games

Has anyone read them?

I work in a book store and finally gave in and read them after too many customer recommendations to ignore!
I have to say I LOVED them!
Peeta was my favourite character. Probably because I have a weak spot for quiet yet lovely men!

I just read all three in three days over break! I adored the first, but Catching Fire and Mockingjay just seemed to get worse and worse as it went along. I'd almost have preferred it stop with the first one, but my favourite characters are Prim, Finnick and Gale, so I'm glad they continued. I just wish they didn't seem so haphazardly thrown together.

I read all three in three days too! I was completely addicted! I agree, I think the first was by far the best. Its almost like she lost where she was going with them after the first. What do you think of the casting for the movie?

The two castings I think are absolutely perfect are Rue and Caesar Flickerman. I mean, it's Stanley Tucci! I like that they cast some lesser known people as well, and I have absolutely no objection to Lenny Kravitz portraying Cinna, unlike the majority of the fandom. I think overall the casting probably could have been better, but it's going to be a good movie anyway so why should it matter, right?

I'm just over half way through the first one on my delightful kindle christmas present (on of the best requests I have ever made).
I love the book, I have also looked into the film and if anything it puts my mind at ease that Suzanne Collins wrote the screen play and is one of the films 3 producers, she must have had some say in the casting. Needless to say I am looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.

Loved them!! Not the best written books out there but the story is addicting. I couldn't get enough. I am nervous that the movie won't live up to my expectations.

I agree, it's not high quality literature but it's addictive! There's a book called divergent By veronica Roth which is apparently quite similar and also brilliant. I think I'm going to have to give it a go!

Just finished the first! Yeah so it's not the most well written piece of liturature out there but the story is compelling and well executed. J.K.Rowling isn't a particularly outstanding writer but Harry Potter caught the imagination of millions of people. The books serve their purpose well.
Once I've finished the other books I have already paid for I will get the rest of the Suzanne Collins books, I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens to the story.

Divergent is on my reading list too! I have about 15 other books to get through first, though. And there's a sequel to it coming out this year too, isn't there? I miss the anxiety of waiting for the next book in a series.
