Oooh, Cat's Cradle is pretty mind-boggling. And good. I read The Reader over ten years ago but remember liking it. And I just bought Emma at my library's book sale (it's one of two Austens I have yet to read, the other being Mansfield Park).
And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.
And have no thorns to distance me,

but be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

I just started a book called 'My family and other animals', by Gerald Durrell. The title kinda spoke to me aha
I tried to find Mindy's book, but it's not out yet where I live... :(

Just finished Mindy Kaling's book. Almost finished with a graphic novel my husband got me for Christmas, Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. Wanted to get through a quick read before starting 1Q84, which is what I plan to read next!

I read a ton over the past few weeks! Read all 9 of the Little House books, a biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Girl Who Played With Fire, Mindy Kaling's book, Fever! (a non-fiction book about a people trying to figure out how a febrile virus in Africa started) and Tina Fey's book. Now I'm reading Altered States by Anita Brookner.
And I do not want to be a rose.

I've started "Sleep" by Haruki Murakami, last night. I've kept the last chapter to read today, while I'm drinking tea for breakfast.
I like the way he writes, it's really fluid and easy, and it shows really well the japanese way of thinking: close to the others but reserved at the same time. I've particularly found myself in this book, because it's about insomnia, and I know it way too well not to be touched by this story.
Anyway, a really good book which I advice to anyone who has a little time to read, but wants something good!

Everyone should post their book covers so I can take visual notes! I'm about to read On the Road by Jack Kerouac because I think it'll be something quick I can fit in before we start the next book club book. I'm not really a fan of the Beats but I'm trying to give them an umpteenth chance.

The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay is one of my favorite books so I'll have to check out this one, too!
