Seriously I can't believe how emotional I've gotten watching this. The writing is phenomenal, the acting is phenomenal. Wow.

I don't get emotional at all when watching this, but I do really love this show! This past Sunday I felt a little heart-tug when they were telling the pilot, ex marine, police before it went on the news.

I normally do not like dramas, but I saw the first episode online and was hooked. I even ordered HBO so that I can watch every week. It's a drama, but it's got some great comedic moments and all the characters are great!

I want to like this show more than I do. I keep hoping that it'll grow on me like Girls did eventually. There is just something about it that seems so self-righteous even when I agree with the points they are making. I can't get over the feeling that the writing is patting its self on the back for being soooo clever. I will say that I love Sam Waterson (always) and I haven't enjoyed Olivia Munn in anything else but think she does a wonderful job on this show.

It never fails. I have cried during every episode. I think the weeping (like an idiot) was most intense during the episode where Rep. Giffords was shot. The back and forth on whether to call it or not, combined with Coldplay's "Fix You" playing, ah! I never stood a chance.

LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

I admit, I occasionally become irked by the way Mack and Sloan are portrayed, but there are saving graces for the women on the show (Maggie, Leona). Otherwise, it has me in tears every time, keeps me engaged, and I love that the show-to-show plot is sometimes not a linear narrative. It has great thematic content and the music choices have been perfect. Jeff Daniels is a dream!

I agree. I thought this episode was pretty powerful especially in the light of recent events.

I'm really interested in some discussion about this point. I'm also interested in what difference you see in how Maggie is portrayed vs. Mack & Sloan.

I am absolutely hooked on this show. I'm a little behind so I've seen some "spoilers" on the forum and online. Nevertheless, I can't wait to watch every episode. Maggie reminds me a little bit of Peggy from "Mad Men" because she is that underrated female character trying to move up in a man's world. (Granted, the 2010s working world is alot easier on women than that of the 1960s.) I can't wait to watch the news unfold on this show, and to see their take on events. Bravo!

Agreed. I was hooked from the beginning but this was a huge turning point. And last Sundays how they delievered the news of Osama and the credits rolling with just his speech? Wow.
