Jan Brewer and the ban of funding for planned parenthood.

Postby juraiknight » Mon May 07, 2012 12:21 pm

So, we all know that Arizona (the state I reside in) has been in the spotlight of speculation on numerous things in the past 3 years or so. The biggest one was the random checks by police to check for illegal immigrants. So now, we have Jan Brewer sparking up the fire again with this new bill that will pull funding from a lot of planned parenthood providers. Now, from my understanding that covers a vast amount of services that would potentially be limited or erased all together. I think she's bat s--t crazy, and is really only driving us into the ground. But that's just one person's opinion, anyone else have an opinion on this? I figured I would spark something up since the first few threads I saw when I opened "Current Events" had titles about shows and not current events lol. Discuss.

I, too, have heard of this. However, I think that pulling funding money from planned parenthood is something that needs to be done. Planned Parenthood, especially within this past year, has found itself in a lot of wrong doings. They have been recorded supporting human trafficking of young women and are exploiting women all across the nation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9Zj9yx2j0Y
While only less than 3% of their services is abortion, that is where more than half of their profit is from. Hundreds of employees have left many local planned parenthood's because of their scandals. Also, there are a lot of local health clinics that do offer all the services that planned parenthood does, excluding abortion (killing of unborn children). It would be best that more money is sent there, so that women are still receiving the care that they need and deserve. We should also start supporting more local pregnancy crisis centers.

Planned Parenthood is much, MUCH more than abortion. It provides free health services to any woman (and some things for men).

As that video shows, that manager was fired. There are going to be scandals in ANY organization. Planned Parenthood is transparent. The few that I have visited have been amazing. I got free gynecological services as well as free birth control.
And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.
And have no thorns to distance me,

but be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

Hmm, very interesting. Would it be better to create a way to filter the means of getting planned parent hood help versus cutting it all together? I do agree that within all organizations, bad or good, there will be some corruption and all it takes is a little view on it and it explodes. Some crimes are seen as worse than others because of the lime lite. I'm very interested in hearing everyone's view on this, since I'm a dude talking about something that doesn't necessarily hit me as hard as it does other people.

Texas has already decided to pull Planned Parenthood funding. I was so disappointed in my state. I feel like no one did their research into all of the other services that PP provides. (I went there in college for my yearly exams and birth control) I also think it's a bunch of dudes making decisions on body parts they don't have and that makes me extra angry.
