Disappearing Threads

Postby onsilver_stars » Tue Nov 29, 2011 8:00 am

We had a thread for the book club, which has disappeared. Do we need to keep posting in it daily to keep it up? Or do I just need to keep creating the same threads over and over?
...I wish and wish and wish.

I know I'm private, but I'll accept you I swear! You only have to request it.. *

Oh dear. Do you remember if the thread was affected by spam posts? Maybe the admin deleted threads that contained posts by spam bots...

I think threads get automatically deleted if there hasn't been a post made in a certain amount of time. It also seems that there is only one page of threads allowed for each subforum. That means 25 threads max per subforum. I understand wanting to prune old topics but that seems too soon, causing threads to be re-made and conversations lost. :(

I am really curious about this too, I went away for Thanksgiving and when I came back, some of the topic I wanted to read had just disappeared. If it is spam bots that are the problem, could you not just delete the individual posts?

Yeah, I just looked at the topics and so many threads were just gone! And some had a lot of info in them (i.e. the Buffy one). It's hard to form a community if you're worried that what you write is going to get deleted...

I really wish a board admin would take some time and address this and the ridiculous censoring situation. Also, I'm cool with ads/banners and what not but not a fan of the pop ups. Not to be a total whine box.

I know - what's up with the spam? I've used boards like this before and I've never seen so much spam. Surely something can be done about it.
