Visits home, which consist of laying in the bed of my dad's truck with my high school friends and a bottle of Boone's farm, gazing up at the millions of stars I can't see from my apartment in the city.
4 a.m. pancakes after a night out with friends, when the buzz is just starting to wear off and we start to feel a little groggy and a lot giggly.
Early morning city quiet, before campus begins to bustle with students and at once my university of 50,000 actually feels still and empty for a change.
A hot coffee and a fresh copy of the New York Times in the early morning city quiet.
A homemade quilt spread out over green city park grass, and me sprawled out next to my puppy with a good book in the Texas summer sunshine.

The gritty feeling after a week at the beach and no matter how gross I feel, never wanting to wash it off because it makes me feel alive and young and happy.
