So I have this problem...

I have a friend. She has anorexia
We both have a Tumblr, but we both have a problem. I have bulimia. She often posts triggering things on her blog, and I try not to but sometimes I do too...:(
I just don't know what to do because she thinks she's so fat but she's around 120 pounds and 5'10. It KILLS me. But it also kills me that she doesn't understand how much it hurts me. I want her to not be so damn skinny......she's beautiful and she just doesn't see it. But i guess I get that cause I don't see it in me either. i just want her to be happy but the stuff she does triggers me so much.

it sounds like both of you need some help. one thing you can start immediately is unfollow her on tumblr. make your posts private if you think they will be triggering to her. it's a terrible thing to go through but to prompt each other further into it just seems even more destructive. instead of searching for images of emaciated unhealthy girls on the internet use your time to find help / support groups / tips on healthy eating.

Do your best to just unfollow her. Tumblr can be such a trigger. I try to be really careful with the accounts I follow and I would unfollow at the first sign of "skinny obsession". In livejournal some years ago, I used to follow this community with pictures of thin girls. It was destructive to me. Seek help, and read/follow better blogs :) I highly recommend theradicaluprise.wordpress.com. It's a zine, but the blog is also pretty amazing, general feel-good stuff. I LOVE IT.

To go off on a tangent a little, I realized that the internet has been very influential to me. It was when I started to make bad choices about my body, but it was also key to my betterment. I just try to follow body-positive blogs and websites and keep away from ones that tolerate destructive behavior.
