The only German groups I know of are Modern Talking (80s boyband kinda stuff that a friend sent me a tape of when I was younger) and Rammstein (ugh no thanks, I don't wan't to be deaf).

I did used to listen to a couple of Swedish songs a few years ago but I have no idea who the people singing them are (and no, not ABBA or Robyn...or Ace of Base).

If you're looking for something fun (and great :P ) you should listen to Camille. She's a french singer that uses body percussions, lots of onomatopoeias, and has an awesome voice. Though her new album (Ilo veyou) is a bit different than her previous ones ( great nonetheless). She was also part of the Nouvelle Vague band (which you should check out too if you don't know  ).

I will have to look them up! :D I was out last night and took a taxi home, and the driver was Indian and he asked did I mind if he played his Punjabi music and of course I said I didn't mind. I actually like that sort of music (not that I listen often) because it always seems upbeat and it makes me want to dance.

I have one song that isn't sung in English. It's by an artist by the name of Rie Tanaka and it's called Fields of hope. I don't know of any of her other music, but I'd recommend it nonetheless. She has such a pretty voice. :)

Right now SO IN LOVE with Yelle, her music is pretty funky and upbeat and you can't help but get happy.
I don't listen to Latin music very much beside the sunday/party mariachi music but I'm making up a music video up in my head every time I listen to La Tortura by Shakira ... that happen to anyone else??

I heart french music. Carla Bruni is great. Something a little older, France Gall.

I've been hooked on Carla Bruni ever since my French professor played one of her music videos for us in class. Have you ever listened to Francoise Hardy? I feel like she's the 60s mod version of Carla.

Does anyone have suggestions for German music? I really love Wir Sind Helden and Juli, but the songs I have from them are sort of old and I would love to hear some new stuff!
