If y'all like a good mystery/crime/thriller you need to check out Any and Every Tess Gerritsen book.

The Rizzoli & Isles series is by far my favorite, but she's had some great novels.
*Rizzoli & Isles is also now a popular TV show - I love them both equally

The tv show I like because I can drink wine a lot easier than I can while juggling a book- but whatever.

Book 1; The Surgeon - great place to start. I won't spoil. But it's a just read

I LOVE Tess Gerritsen. I think I've read almost all of the series (with the exception of the most recent 2 books). Initially, I didn't like the casting for Maura Isles for the tv show because she's completely different from who I imagined her to be. However, I really love the friendship between the two main characters-- I think that's something that developed more slowly in the books.

I feel the exact same way!! Didn't care for the show at first because their relationship was wildly different. As you said it was a slow and gradual build up to the buddy buddy we see on the show. And even then they clashed most often.
There is a new book coming out soon! So you better catch up.
The last two books were just amazing. Won't ruin them.

Now I like the tv show. But for different reasons than the books.
Love Tess Gerritsen so much. Her other books are really good too
