I'm currently reading the first book in the Tomorrow series by John Marsden. Yes I'm a bit behind the times, but I read the first book (admittedly that was way after they were released, too) ages ago and because it's been so long I had to read it again. I'll be happy to take any recommendations on books since I've got something in the vicinity of ten weeks off school and apart from watching the last few episodes of New Girl S1 and catching up on Castle, I need something to do.

I'm the kind of person who usually has several books on the go at once... currently in the middle of Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome; Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov; A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness and the ever present Harry Potter (Currently in the middle of the Chamber of Secrets  )!

I'm so into the latest Sweet Valley books! It's a serial the comes out on Sundays called "The Sweet Life" where Elizabeth & Jessica are 30 and navigating through adult life. I think you need to read "Sweet Valley Confidential" first, but the serial is even better. OBSESSED!

I wish my bed side reading table wasn't already packed with To Read books because I'm really interested in How To Be A Woman. I'll get to it eventually, way after every one else has read it.

I finished Sarah Vowell's Unfamiliar Fishes (see above) over the weekend and I recommend it. I learned a lot and the only thing that is keeping me from running out and buying all of her other work is that gigantic To Read list I just mentioned.

I haven't started it yet but this is what is up next:

I'm reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman. I'm having mixed feelings about it. I can't decide whether to read the sequel or not!

Next up is is The Radleys by Matt Haig. Heard good things about this one.

Somewhere in this forum is a Book Club thread about The Magicians where I discuss how much I did not like it, haha.

I'm currently reading The Jaws Log. Such a great book about the making of one of the greatest movies of all time. Also a nice little read to lead up to Shark Week this Sunday :D

I'm currently reading ROGUE by Scott Charles Adams. It is the second book in a series (Never Dream).
Honestly, I downloaded both books because it was temporarily free off amazon and the author is my friend's father in law (so she was posting on Facebook for everyone to download them).

It's about vampires and werewolves, but he switches it up a little so it's not your traditional vampire/werewolf story. No love triangles or anything like that.

Never Dream is set in Salamanca. Rogue is set in New Jersey, USA. So I get a kick out of recognizing the places mentioned in it.

I'm not loving it, but I'm not hating it either. I probably would have paid a few dollars to download the books, too (and since I hate spending money that's a compliment). The writing style is a bit different, and as long as you can keep up with the back & forth of storytelling between characters it's fine. The story gets retold from someone else's perspective throughout the book, so you see a different side of an event.
