Please tell me I'm not alone.

I've read one of those! I was on holiday and there was this itinerary library with no good books at all for someone above 5 (sure, I'll read Winnie the Pooh). And then there it was...I can't remember the name, but I do recall a great sex scene :P I never read one again...but maybe I should

Oh, you should! I call them the quickie books because it would usually only take you two hours to finish up one 'novel'. Storylines are ridiculously bad, and embarrassing to the point that it's funny! But the kink is there so... haha.

I must admit I love the idea of something being so bad it's actually good ;)

Oh, yes, the "heaving bosoms" and "throbbing members." I remember reading a few of those when I was 13. They were perfect because they didn't go into detail but were incredibly titillating to my 13 year old self.

I often find the best sex scenes in movies to be the ones where we see the beginning of the passion, but don't see the actual act, you know what I mean? It's the whole thing about leaving it to the imagination.
And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.
And have no thorns to distance me,

but be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

So true! Movie sex scenes are more stimulating to me than outright *. I personally like the "being desired" element it has to it.

It's the anticipation, right? I even like the movie sex scenes that don't show the simulation, but just the beginning where both people are so in the heat of the moment.

Couldn't agree more. It allows your mind to fill the blanks and you get to concentrate on the passion and desire, instead of trying to avoid the awkwardness of seeing random people's private areas :P Besides, after the sex...well, it's done, the tension is gone and it isn't nearly as interesting for the viewers. It's sad, but it's true. It's like "Yes!! They did it!! Finally!!...hum...so what, now?" lol

I also read a romance novel around 13 or so. Strangely enough, I think my mom gave it to me to read. I think it was called Shanna? It was quite titillating, though if I remember correctly I think the premise was a woman falling in love with a man who essentially raped her. That's concerning. I haven't read one since, but maybe I will whenver I have time for "fun" reading again.

Huck - yeah, the Harlequin romances are not exactly feminist manifestos... It's a bit worrisome.

Indeed. Perhaps that's why I've stayed away from them since them.

P.S. I've never watched Buffy, but I guess I may have to check it out....
