I try to convince myself that these women choose to do this, and maybe (probably) they do, but why do the women have to be treated so raunchy. Most of the time I'm horrified by what I see on the internet (imgfave, mostly).

I don't think you need to be ashamed. Though I'm not that into in myself, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with watching *. The problem comes in that we do vote with our dollar, so by patronizing companies that produce * that is degrading or violent towards women we are saying, yes, this is ok! However, unforunately, this is what's available mainstream, so it's certainly hard to avoid it (especially if you're looking for something free).

But like xyz said, there is women friendly * out there, so maybe try looking for that!

I found female friendly * on the site I normally go to. It was so much better than what I normally see. I was less ashamed and turned off.

I was also able to sample some female-friendly * and it was so different from the "normal" * I had in my mind.

For those of you who have seen female friendly *, how is it different than regular *? Is it just that the females are less degraded? Or is there more of a romance/story build up element? Or both?

I noticed in regular * that a guy's orgasm is basically to give the woman a "facial". It almost doesn't focus on the women's pleasure. Women really are objectified. Female-friendly *, ideally, should show both participants being pleasured. I don't know much about the dynamics of * in general, so I apologize if I sound ignorant.

No, thanks, I appreciate your input! I don't know much about the dynamics of * myself, that's why I had to ask. I think that's a good explanation.

Anne - I had no idea that regular * didn't include showing women enjoying sex. That's just depressing.
And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.
And have no thorns to distance me,

but be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

By the way, if you guy's can stomach it, there's a documentary about * in our culture called The Price Of Pleasure : Pornography, Sexuality & Relationships. I watched about 40 minutes of it and then had to turn it off because it was upsetting to me, but thought I'd put it out there for those that are interested.

There is a huge problem with the idea of a woman enjoying sex in our culture in general. There is a documentary on the movie ratings board, I believe it is called This Movie is Not Yet Rated, and a segment about how they will pretty much automatically tack NC-17 on anything with a scene that is focused too much on a woman's pleasure.
