Polls POLL: Flattery Gets You Everywhere! HelloGiggles Team

Today at work, I was approached by a colleague who I don’t really know and was asked my age. After being slightly taken aback by the question, I answered honestly, to which came the reply, “You don’t look your age.” I didn’t know how to react, so instead stood there giggling like a childish schoolgirl, flushed with embarrassment and basically looking like a bumbling idiot. I clearly don’t deal with compliments very well.

  1. It depends on the compliment! “Hey, I like your romper!” Oh thanks! “You have beautiful eyes.” Ohh.. uhmm.. not really.. They’re poo brown.. but thanks ahhh..

  2. I accept them not easily. But I accept them. And normally I compliment back. It feels like I’m a bad person if I don’t.

  3. Oh, it’s embarrasing for me to receive compliments, because instead of saying ‘Thanks’ like a normal human being, I usually say ‘I know’ and sound completely self centered and the person who made the compliment usually walks away awkwardly!
