Style Me Grasie

Everything Peplum – Are you wearing this trend?

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love the peplum trend that is so hugely popular right now. There’s something so ladylike and chic about it. It gives you an instant hourglass figure and can easily be dressed up or down.

Tips for wearing peplum:

  • When wearing a peplum top, keep your bottom half fitted with either a pencil skirt or skinny jeans. The only flare should be on the peplum, more than that would be overkill.
  • Closed toe pumps or lace up booties are both excellent shoe choices to pair with this trend. They give a little sex appeal and edge to a very feminine look.
  • Don’t be afraid to try it! Thinner women will benefit from the instant illusion of curves and curvier women will benefit from the accentuated waistline. Happy Shopping!

I can’t stand this trend, because it goes completely against my shape in my opinion…. I’m a pear, so it’s all about balancing your top half to make you not look bottom heavy, and the peplum design goes out at the hip. Makes shopping for a dress for my 21st this season really really hard :(

I hate it also =( I’m too skinny for this and I think it makes me look like I’m trying to wear a tutu but it’s not quite a tutu. I don’t know, but Im upset about it.

  • Nikki Tretler

Agreed. This trend is NOT cool!

  • Melissa Donahey

I agree. HATE this trend. I’ll be glad when it dies. Hopefully soon.

  • Heidi Shaffer Reisenauer

I guess I’m on my own here, but I’m loving this trend.
