Event for a Cause: Bermathon! 12 Hours of Board Games

A good friend of Hello Giggles, Alex Berman, is fighting cancer and undergoing extensive treatment in Seattle. Alex is 33 and lives in New York City with his wife and twin boys. He has to be away from his family for months during this treatment. His medical bills are astronomical and the transplant alone costs $800,000.

Alex’s friends have set up this fundraiser to help ease the Berman’s intense financial burden.

WHEN: Sunday, January 29th from 10AM – Midnight
WHERE: Gallery 1988 in Venice – 214 Pier Avenue Santa Monica, CA 90405 (East of Main St)
WHAT: play games, eat pizza, and drink on to raise money
DETAILS: $20 entry fee covers free food, drink and access to great board games for the day
PRIZES: sporting event tickets, video games, board games

This event may introduce you to an entirely new level of board games. We will be playing fancy/designer/European board games! Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play them. There will be hot nerds who will teach you. Scorekeepers will track your wins and award you points for winning.

Three Ways to Receive Points:
1. Win games (points vary depending on the complexity of the game)
2. Total time spent at the event (points per hour)
3. Points can purchased.

ALL proceeds from the event go directly to the Alex. We’ll accept all forms of payment.

Nerds – if you have a lady, bring her
Ladies – maybe meet the nerd of your dreams
Cool Kids – come play and maintain your hip facade by saying “it’s really just for charity”

If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation.
