Embroidered Gift Tags Mr. Kate

I always love to DIY my own holiday gift wrap and tags and paper bags are a go-to for me. They’re usually made from recycled materials and I love the natural color and texture. Above are some gifts I wrapped with paper bags and decorated with a potato stamp!

This year I’m also going to accent my gifts with these embroidered gift tags that you can make with paper bags, too! I also like to use the handle of the paper bag for the tag loop. You don’t have to be a good sewer to do this project, just a simple loop stitch with embroidery thread and you’re in elf business!

What You Need:

  • Embroidery thread
  • Brown paper bags
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Embroidery needle
What to Do:
  1. Take off the handle on the paper bag to use later.
  2. Thread the needle with your choice of color–double up for a bolder color by threading the needle and tying the two knots together.
  3. Glue a piece of the handle on the top of the tag so it creates a loop to attach to the gift.
  4. Sew around the perimeter of your tag with a loop stitch and finish with a knot.
