Hello, Grasie. I’m getting ready to start working in a creative software company that prides itself on wearing jeans and hoodies. While I’m glad that I don’t have to worry about breaking the bank on a business casual wardrobe (thanks for the suggestions, nonetheless), I know that I do my best work when I look and feel good. Hoodies don’t make me look or feel good. Any suggestions for being stylish but not overly dressed in a casual work environment? Thank you!
Hi Jennifer and all you lovely Hello Giggles readers! Hoodies are fantastic for chilly nights and walks on the beach, but I do agree with you in that I don’t think they are “work appropriate”, nor do I ever feel particularly pretty in them. Jeans, however, are fantastic! I would suggest going with a basic and comfy jeans and t-shirt combo but then sprucing it up with accessories such as necklaces. Ditch the hoodie, add a necklace.
My What To Wear: Back To School post had some great finds for on the cheap yet stylish jeans and t-shirt options. Check those out and watch this video I did for my style blog: 3 Ways To Wear Your Necklaces. All accessories used are cheap and really bring the plain t-shirt I’m wearing to life. This way, you can still be comfortable and casual yet stylish and fun. Happy Dressing and congrats on the new job!
