Ombre isn't going away! When done correctly, it's super natural. Look at a child's hair -- natural hair is always lighter on the ends because it's been there the longest & had the most sun exposure. I think the next wave of the trend is going to be a little more natural...I hope!

I think the ombre trend really depends on how dramatic it is. Some of the ombre that celebrities are rocking is a little too much (dark brown with platinum ends), but I think if it is subtle, it can look really pretty. I recently had mine done by my stylist and I adore it. She said that it is an easy way for dark haired girls to get a new look, without having to deal with all of the upkeep.

A couple months ago I saw a few videos online about ombre and after doing a couple weeks of research I decided to try it. Having chestnut brown hair I figured I'd try doing my ends a dark blonde.. Didn't like the look of it so I got some purple hair dye and dyed over it. I LOVE IT!!! I've only had to touch it up once in three months. Its just enough that if I wear it down you can notice it but if I put it up in a bun you cant tell. I dont think I'll ever not have purple in my hair. Its also opened up a LOT of convo's about funky colored hair with random people (I love talking to random people so this is awesome for me) All in all I dont feel like I've jumped on a bandwagon because there are so many different ways to do your hair with the ombre or colored ombre :-)

I have naturally coppery blonde hair and have been dying it pretty platinum from a box (the horror!) for the past few years. After coming to the conclusion that dying from a box blows and that I can't afford salon dyed upkeep, ombre seemed to be the best solution and I really couldn't be happier. I've just let the top grow out and had the salon even out the middle section and the tips are just what had been dyed forever ago. Mines relatively subtle, but it's cheaper, healthier on my hair, and I think it looks super great!

I first dip-dyed my hair 2 years ago and I can't imagine having it any other way now, however it really does ruin your ends! You just have to be really careful with it, never bleach over hair that is already coloured or lightened (especially if you're re-doing a dip-dye) wait for those sections to grow out or trim them off. Moroccan oil is really good for protecting the ends once their bleached and I always use a finishing cream to stop it looking tatty.
