Blood is the New Black, best known for their graphic tees, launches their Summer 2012 campaign with the addition of dresses and bodysuits. Founded in 2004, Blood is the New Black is a design collective that aims to promote the work of emerging artists, illustrators, photographers, designers and writers through their continued t-shirt collaborations. Owner and curator Mitra Khayyam works with ever single artist to open up their unique vision to fans of both fashion and the arts who might not otherwise be exposed to their work.
The collections features over 90 graphics by the stable of over 45 international artists that the brand collaborates with on a seasonal basis. Summer offerings include a Nada Prada bodysuit, Girl on a Motorcycle dress, and ____ Or Die men’s tee. Blood is the New Black prides itself on the unique dye and wash details, top quality fabrics and contemporary silhouettes that the brand is known for.
Since its inception, Blood is the new Black has been sold at hundreds of stores worldwide and their online store and has been featured in such media as The New York Times, Vogue UK, Nylon, Teen Vogue and Refinery 29. The brand is also a favorite amongst celebrities like Kristen Stewart, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Pitt, Hayley WIlliams, Lil Wayne, Ke$ha, Tegan Quinn and Sarah Hyland.
