Beluga Whales LIVE from the Vancouver Aquarium HelloGiggles Team

This might be the most tranquil animal cam yet. Relax and cool off with these playful creatures brought to you by the great people at the Vancouver Aquarium!

From their page:

You are watching beluga whales that live at the Vancouver Aquarium, a marine science centre that connects people to our natural world and inspires them to take action through conservation, research and education programs.

Belugas are found in the Arctic and sub-Arctic waters of the world. The southernmost population lives in Canada’s St. Lawrence River estuary. They are often hard to see due to inaccessible or murky habitats.

This cam is part of explore.org’s Pearls of the Planet initiative, created to help people fall in love with the world again. explore.org is a philanthropic media organization and division of the Annenberg Foundation. 1. I love these live animal cams :D they always cheer me up!

  2. Bella Beluga was one of the stars of my first picture book, illustrated by my husband, below: http://joythejellyfish.blogspot.com In the sequel, not yet published, Bella gets kidnapped by an aquarium, and her undersea friends rescue her, so yes, I hope these beautiful, sweet creatures are left to be free!

  3. So cute, but I wish they were in the ocean instead of in a tank.

  4. This is awesome! Thank you!!!

  5. i LOVE this lol so calms me durin work =0 )

  6. We saw these two on Saturday! They are a mother and daughter. So beautiful :-)

  7. Belugas are beautiful, intelligent creatures. Sadly though, the Georgia Aquarium is trying to import 18 wild-caught belugas from Russia. The aquarium is planning to transport these whales 6,000 miles, first to Belgium and then across the Atlantic, causing the animals tremendous stress. Tell the Georgia Aquarium not to import wild belugas here: http://bit.ly/P5WxrO

    • Right on Julia, I’m so signing this and making it public to my network of friends, this is a horrible thing to do and will DEFINITELY cause unnecessary stress to these poor mammals. Man is retarded sometimes…

  9. This makes me the most happy!! :D

  10. Learning to appreciate the world by viewing a species in captivity would be the equivalent of learning about humanity by watching people in a prison.

I would like to believe that conservation efforts are truly at the heart of this exhibit, but considering they have already sold one beluga to Sea World, I have my sincere doubts.

  11. oh wow so pretty
