Playlist of the Week BBQ
Corinne Caputo

Since next week is the official start of summer I’m hoping to do a few summer themed playlists in the coming weeks. This week it’s BBQs. Personally, I love the listening to the radio during a barbecue but the songs below are a great alternative.

Barbecues are among my favorite things. Grilled meat, potato chips, ice cream all in one place? Yes, please. (I’ll ignore the mosquito bites for one night.)

HelloGiggles: BBQ

Band of Horses – No One’s Gonna Love You
Parachute Musical – Back To Life
Mayer Hawthorne – No Strings
Givers – Saw You First
Jamie Woon – Night Air
New York Rivals – I’m Not Ready Yet
Katie Herzig – Jack And Jill
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – The Skin Of My Yellow Country Teeth
Arcade Fire – Wasted Hours (A Life That We Can Live)
The Shins – Simple Song
Florence + The Machine – I’m Not Calling You A Liar
William Beckett – Oh, Love!

What do you listen to during a BBQ? Share in the comments below :)

  1. I am obsessed with that Mayer Hawthorne song. I just go to Youtube sometimes to listen to it over and over.

  2. Corinne – you keep me young!

  3. For all those classic rock/pop lovers out there, Carly Simon, Tom Petty, & the Beach Boys (especially “Kokomo”) always remind me of summer BBQs! And let’s not Led Zeppelin’s “Rain Song”!

Also, the entire “Raising Sand” album by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss seems like a perfect bluesy and fun, but relaxed, bit of music for a BBQ.

  4. Carole King’s Tapestry is appropriate for any outdoor activity. Seriously, anything. I’d pretty much listen to that album anywhere, anytime, but especially when fun and sun are involved.

Also, BBQ’s usually include beer for me so Caitlin Rose’s “Answer in One of These Bottles” is a good one.

    • Carole King was my first concert when I was 6. Knew every word to Tapestry and have seen her 2 more times since. No one better.
