I love these.

I put these little pouches of laundry goodness to the ultimate test – the dirty laundry of  my 14-year-old son – and when I say, “14″, I do mean, “stinky”.

Being a super busy home schooling, work-from-home mom, I don’t have time to do everyone’s laundry and taught my kid to do his own laundry around age 10.

Age 10.

First, we used those all-in-one sheets, which left his clothes dried out, wrinkled and questionably clean. As he got older and stronger, he was able to lift and maneuver my large bottles of laundry detergent. Still, he overuses the product and sometimes makes a mess.

First of all, a monkey can do laundry with these and, if you have a monkey, you should definitely test this theory. If you don’t have a monkey, try them with your kids. It’s never too early or late to teach them self-suffiency and cleanliness and Dropps makes that easy!

I used all three varieties (Baby, Fresh Scent and Scent & Dye Free) in three different water temperatures (hot, cold and warm) and found that Dropps cleaned very well.

The ultimate test, of course, was my kid’s dingy whites. We used a Fresh Scent packet in hot water with no bleach, and his whites still emerged clean, clean, clean! The scent was not overpowering, the load just smelled fresh!

In closing, I would highly recommend this product and, in fact, I have been sending out samples to those who have purchased t-shirts and other items from my store!

Introducing exfoliating gloves…

I have been using these gloves everyday at shower or bath time for the past decade or so. I thought about my face and the fact I’ve been exfoliating that skin since I was ten years old, at the urging of my mother.

So, I wondered, what if I treated my entire body as well as I treat my face?

Enter the exfoliating gloves…

You may find these at your local drug store for $5.00 or less and using them is self explanatory. What exfoliating does is remove that top layer of dead skin which traps all kinds of icky dirt and oils and dulls the skin, even changing its tone.

With these, your skin is renewed and you will see and feel a difference in your skin immediately, then, more and more each day as you continue to use the gloves.

I have given these as gifts and have gotten my ex-husband, current husband and my teenage son hooked on using these colorful cleaners. Buy a pair for everyone in the family and watch how bright, shiny, soft, and clean they will become. So much so, that you won’t hesitate to put out those white towels and sheets you’ve been saving for –– clean people.

Warnings:

• Be gentle with your skin when using these and be sure the gloves are soaked with water and well lathered with shower or bath gel before using. If you are not accustomed to exfoliating your skin, any kind of exfoliant can be an irritant when, initially, introduced.
• Be super careful when using these to clean your naughty bits. Perhaps, keep a washcloth handy to cleanse these more sensitive areas.

This is serious business.

The event may have been tragic, but the outcome was très chic.

Either way, because of this super short style, I would have my hair cut by a barber and it was in his barber shop where I learned about Bigen Hair Dye.

According to their website:

“Ammonia-free formula and requires no hydrogen peroxide. The unique powder formula is activated by water to naturally open the hair’s cuticle to deposit rich, natural long lasting color.”

I began using this dye back then and continue to use it to this day, never having to worry about frying my hair again. One warning, however: this stuff is like Henna –– it’ll stain everything it touches. So, be sure to protect your hands with sturdy rubber gloves and use dark colored towels. Also, you may want to use a drop cloth, dark towel or newspaper to protect your floors and countertops just in case.

Other than that, have fun dyeing.
