— Friending For Life

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys discussed their unlikely friendship, and we now have severe FOMO

For so many reasons, The Voice holds a special place in our hearts. Aside from being one of the most entertaining and inspiring singing competitions on television, it’s where Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton met and fell head over heels. AND, we just heard that The Voice coaches all have a tight bond! Welcome to Team BFF. Literally.

We’re talking about genuine friendship goals between Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys (and of course, the others, too!).

It’s crazy to realize this, but Levine and Shelton have done a whopping 12 seasons together. And although they rip on one another all day long and fight over talent, it comes from a place of mutual respect.

Talking to People, Levine recalls meeting Shelton for the first time.

“I remember when I saw him at the meeting at NBC, I was instantly very taken by him ’cause he was definitely not your typical country artist. He was not a cookie-cutter guy, and the second we met, we were friends. All of the bulls— that we do comes from a place of love.”

Keys adds that she was surprised by how much she warmed to Shelton when they met, too. “I like him so much. I mean, I didn’t think I was gonna not like you, but I didn’t expect to like you. You’re a cool guy!” LOL. Way to be brutally honest, girl. But, we get it.

Shelton was equally taken with the Maroon 5 crooner.

“He’s one of the most loving people I’ve ever known. We drive each other nuts, but outside of this world, he’s one of my best friends and it’s because of his heart. He needs his face slapped around, but he has a huge, huge heart.”
