June 25th is Log Cabin Day! It’s a day which brings you back to a quieter, simpler era. which reminds me that I often hear people say “I was born in the wrong decade!”
I can relate because as a kid I used to be obsessed with The Great Depression. I wanted to live in the 1930s. I wanted black and white movies, type writers and just an orange for Christmas. I was strange…
If you could live in any other decade which would it be?

I’d like to live in the future. Seriously, have you seen the clothes from Prometheus and the Fitfh Element? Awesomenes!!
Anyone who knows me well knows I was born in the wrong decade. The 40s seem to be much more me, and I wouldn’t have minded living through the 50s and 60s after that. My dad thought he was born in the wrong era too- the 50s were his time.
I pick the 80′s. I only got a year and 2 months of them. I’d love to do that decade!
I just like the 1940s because of the pin-ups and Vargas girls and that whole idea of natural beauty and embracing a curvy figure.
20s Paris (Midnight in Paris, anyone?) or the late 40s, early 50s. Even now, Audrey Hepburn is my icon and inspiration for nearly everything. Oh, and I have a crush on the young Gene Kelly, so that would be pretty great.
I was watching Some Like It Hot over the weekend wishing I was singing and dancing with Marilyn and Tony.
I chose the 1800s, although I’d much rather live between 1880 and 1915. I don’t know, something about the fashions and how men were gentlemen just appeals to me. I know women didn’t have many rights back then, but it’s so appealing.
I chose the 50s but there are certain elements of the 60s that pull me towards that era. *cough* Lennon *cough*
I would LOVE to have lived in the 40s or 50s to live in the era of musicals… Those were the days… I’d give anything to have met Bing Crosby or Gene Kelly…
