Polls What About Soulmates?

Today, June 4th is Old Maid’s Day!

This day is described as a day to “bring awareness to those of us who have not yet found (and caught) our soulmates.” But I would have to say that the term “Old Maid” just plain sucks. Why would I want to be referred to as an Old Maid just because I’m single? No thanks.

Besides, as we have all heard over and over again, the mass media can give the audience a false depiction of love. Who knows if soulmates are even real. How do you feel about soulmates?

  1. I’ve always really liked the whole Harry and Sally/Dawson and Joey/etc idea. The one where you realize that you’re in love with your best friend. No “soulmate” or “love at first sight” involved. Just two people who know each other so well, rely on and trust each other, and really care about each other. I like all of that way better than the idea of finding your “soulmate”

  2. I think the mistake is assuming that we each only have one. My soul has a tribe of buds, pals, besties, and mates. Some are human, some are romantic, some are neither. Part of the fun and mystery of life is “discovering” them.

  3. I believe that some people have soul mates and some don’t. It’s a thing only few get.

  4. I found mine in my best friend, Gaby :)

  5. I don’t personally believe in soul mates. I believe there are certain people we are more compatible with and it’s just a matter of finding someone with whom you have a mutal respect and acceptance, and you choose which one person to be with. But… if soul mates were in fact real, in the definition of the term, it would be my best friend. No man could take the role she has in my life. :)

  6. Nothing says soul mates have to be our boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives. I believe many of the people in our lives are our soul mates. Any time there is a deep connection between people, or a synchronicity of two souls coming together via karmic return. Our soul mates are those who keep entering our lives, some might call this fate. They can be our mothers, our best friends, our husbands, or even our enemy. I believe we even have soul mates in our enemies.. These souls offer us advice and lessons learned.
