5 Awesome Back To School Supplies

It’s already more than half way through the summer. I just wiped a tear off my face.

If you’re an adult who doesn’t have kids in school, then you obviously have no idea how fun it is these days going back to school shopping. Back to school shopping used to be getting a black binder with normal pencils and a pink eraser, but now the possibilities for simple school supplies are ENDLESS. If you’re a kid, you know what I’m talking about. The Glee and Justin Bieber binders and folders, rhinestone EVERYTHING, pens in every single color imaginable. It’s so fun. It even makes you feel a little pumped to start school again, but SPOILER ALERT! A few weeks into the school year you wonder why you were so excited. Anyways, here’s 5 awesome back to school supplies.

In fifth grade, I had an obsession with food erasers and I don’t think that obsession has faded. Food erasers are literally so perfect, I don’t think that I can fully express how much I love them in words. Name any food in the world, and I can guarantee you there is an eraser of one. They are super special. It’s like having a child, that’s how special they are. Except for the fact that you don’t need to feed it or look after it because it’s inanimate! Note: DON’T ACTUALLY USE THEM!!

You can do anything with sharpies. Want to decorate your wall? Sharpies. Want to practice your signature for when you’re famous? Sharpies. Want to doodle on your sneakers? Sharpies. You can decorate anything you want with Sharpies. For back to school, you can use gel highlighters to highlight whatever you want and it’s totally smear free, you can decorate your binder with the new brush tip, or you could enter Sharpie’s “Start with Sharpie Challenge“, ending Aug. 6! Sharpies are a must in back to school shopping (Read here about how THE Sharpie company sent Ruby and I free Sharpies for our consideration, THANKS SHARPIE!!).

Bendy Rulers are so great. They’re bendy, and they’re a ruler. So you can use it to draw lines, measure things and smack people. It’s the best of both worlds.

I have a Domo backpack. This is me and my Domo backpack. I’ve had it since I was 11 and I still use it. It may not be a back to school supply, but you definitely need a backpack for back to school. When you’re going backpack shopping, definitely go to a hello kitty store and get one of these. I swear you will not regret it. On the first day of while everyone else walks down the halls with their boring black backpacks, I STRUT with my Domo Backpack. Now you can too.

Pens with erasers are sacred. In my old class, there was one pen with an eraser and everyone wanted it. It was mine. All hell broke loose the day that I lost that pen. It’s pretty self explanatory; a pen with an eraser that ERASES the pen. It’s pretty spectacular.

Oh my gosh! I am also in love with Sharpies! And I am pretty sure a major deciding factor in my career choice (middle school teacher) was back-to-school shopping! I have a shoebox full of Sharpies, and yet every year I BUY MORE! And I DO NOT let ANYONE use my Sharpies! I covet them. I am a Sharpie hoarder.

I love Staples’ customizable notebooks. They even have a special hole-puncher that you can use to add your handouts to the notebooks. LOVE.

My current favorite school supply is my awesome new double binder I got at Walmart. I thought nothing could top the Five Star notebook-binder hybrid, but this one does. It’s essentially two inch and a half binders in one big zipper binder. It has utility pockets, a handle, and a shoulder strap and I get to customize it exactly how I need it. Yay!

It would be good to add one should not actually attempt to EAT those food erasers. My goodness I had loads of those on top of animal erasers that were so adorable I never used them. I then realised they really weren’t meant to perform function of actually ERASING stuff.

I LOVE Sharpies! I have bought so many over the years, it’s really insane. This article gave me the itch to go pick up more Sharpies (the paint ones!) at Target on my way home from work!
