2012's Best Products and Best Looks: From the Store, to the Red Carpet, to TV!Annamarie Tendler

It’s that time of year: when everyone, everywhere counts down their favorite lists of everything from 2012! Well, I’d like to join in on that trend. Below is my list of the best products, as well as some of the best looks from the year. These are in no particular order, so as not to make anyone jealous. Let’s get right into it!

1. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer

This is a lightweight tinted moisturizer that leaves the skin looking dewy and also has SPF to protect against sun damage. Though I’m not a proponent of everyday foundation use, this is my go-to product when I need a little extra coverage for a fancy event.

2. MAC Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara

This mascara is like getting two for the price of one! Open the first top and the wand will give you long, natural coverage. Open the second top and you get dark dramatic volume!

3. Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Concealer and Eyeshadow Primer

Don’t your shadow or concealer crease throughout the day? Try this primer and you make up will stay put for hours.

4. Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System

The Clarisonic Mia changed my skin. This little device deep cleans your skin in a way that a washcloth cant. It will reduce breakouts, brighten your skin and decrease the size of your pores. I can’t live without it. (I use it twice a day with the delicate bristle head.)

5. Deborah Lippmann Cleopatra In New York Nail Laquer

Everyone already know Deborah Lippmann has the best nail polish. This glitter polish is new and perfect for your holiday parties.

6. NARS Eyeliner Stylo

This liquid eyeliner pen makes creating wings, cat eyes and thin lines much easier than traditional liquid liner.

7. Angelina Jolie at the Oscars

Say what you will about the leg, Angelina always looks better than anyone else.

8. Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week Runway Show

Designed by Marc Jacobs, the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 line was, in my humble estimation, perfection. The hair and makeup was just as incredible as the clothes with it’s straight-out-of-60s-London aesthetic. This was the best look of all this year’s fashion weeks.

9. Vampire Bella in Breaking Dawn – Part II

OH MAN, when Breaking Dawn: Part I ends with Bella (Swan) Cullen opening her eyes to reveal vampiric red eyes and then cuts to black, I was immediately like, “What’s the date and how many more months until Breaking Dawn – Part II???” This past November, Bella had a new last name, new spooky skills and she looked better than ever. Goodbye, Twilight franchise, we will miss you.

10. Rooney Mara at the Oscars

Who knew white could look so gothic? I really enjoyed how Rooney Mara embraced Lisbeth Salander’s whole vibe throughout all of this year’s award season; she looked really good while doing it.

11. Daenerys Targaryen, Game of Thrones

The Great Khaleesi!!!! The best looking character of any show this year. For a hot second I considered dying my hair this color blond because I was convinced I would look exactly like her if I did. Thankfully, I came to my senses; only a few can pull off a nearly white mane and I, certainly, am not one of them. Daeneryrs Stormborn, from the House Targaryen, go take back the Iron Throne so you can rule the Seven Kingdoms!

  2. I have to disagree with Haute and Naughty! I LOVE it for like the first week and a half, then the mascara gets incredibly dried out and gross from all the air getting into it when you are switching out the wants. it causes more pumping which is not good for your mascara. I by NO means have sensitive eyes, and this stuff without fail, a few times a week would cause such a burning sensation in my eye and my eye would start watering so much that I would have to take off and re-do that entire eye. Its such a bummer because for the first week or so, it is amazing.
