10 [Remember MySpace?] Questions With… Carly Rae Jepsen! Vanessa King

Look who volunteered to be a part of my “HelloGiggles’ 10 Questions With…” series. Why, it’s none other than 26-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter and Billboard Chart Topper Extraordinaire, Ms. Carly Rae Jepsen!

Her first single – you totally know the one – was a top 10 hit in 29 countries, reaching the #1 spot in 19 of them. Yes, “Call Me Maybe” spent 9 weeks at the top of the Billboard Top 100 chart (tying the longest run for a Canadian artist). Her official music video for the smash hit has 330 million YouTube views (and counting… because guys, I just played it three times in a row) and the track became inspiration for video-uploading lip sync-ers everywhere, including a version from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and friends, Katy Perry,  the 2012 US Olympic Swim Teamthe cast of every Star Wars character ever created and even The President of the United States of America (okay, sort of).

Her second single, “Good Time“(with Owl City) was released in June – it also jumped into the Top 10 and made Jepsen one of the few artists in history to have two top 10 songs in the same week. Her newest song, “This Kiss“, was released as a third single around the same time as her first internationally released album, titled KISS. In all of her music, it’s very apparent that Carly has a talent for what composers call “The Hook” – it’s a surefire way to keep yourself nestled at the top of the charts for many singles to follow.

Special thanks to Carly for participating.  She’s currently on tour, so check out her official website to find out when she’s playing in your city, become one of her 3.7M followers on Twitter and rest assured “Call Me Maybe” will, in fact, be stuck in your head for the rest of the day…

…you’re welcome.
