  1. I think it’s great that someone who is young can clearly see what is wrong with the Kardashian’s. They are clearly not great role models. & it is also clear that she was just pointing out the facts.

  2. It’s not critisism if it is true. I watch the Kardashians’ show all the time, and I have a feeling if they read this, they would laugh along with it. I enjoyed it.

  3. Do you watch the show? They’re not horrible people. They love each other and go to each other for everything. I can understand why they seem shallow. I don’t know, thats just me.

  4. so i feel a little out of place here being a guy but I like how you made a statement. everyone is always worried about who’s going to be offended over frivolous things like giving your opinion of a TV show family. Even if I didn’t agree with you about the Kardsashians (which I totally do) I wouldn’t get all upset about your opinion. keep on speaking your mind :)

  5. Lol you aren’t being a mean girl AT ALL. You are just callin’ it like you see it. I have to agree!

  6. I hope you don’t mind, but I have just posted a link to this on my blog. I love it!

  7. lol

  8. haters remind you that you are loved. go on Ruby!!

  9. It seems Miss Ruby is learning what she doesn’t want in her life which is sometimes more challenging than learning what you DO want. Perhaps Keeping Up with the Kardashians has some value after all, you know beyond being cotton candy TV you can totally yell at from the couch. :)

  10. one more reason to love ruby… and hellogiggles :)

  11. This is hilarious…and writing this does not make you a mean girl. You rule!

  12. Yeees! Well said… ;)

  13. I found this amusing. :)

  14. You forgot: I have a discernable talent. Because while you are being published here, they are just…there. With big butts and nothing to offer.

  15. I think that some people in the hello giggles community need to lighten up a bit. I loved this post, even with being a fan of the famous K family. I’ve seen too many people criticizing done of the posts on here, which in my opinion is making them out to be a bit of a hypocrite… Life is too short to not say what we think or feel; laugh at ourselves or sometimes at others..

  16. I think this article is perfectly in keeping with HelloGiggles mission. It’s funny, it’s relevant, and it’s poking fun at the silly vanity that consumes so much time on our televisions right now. Well done, Ruby! You’ve got a great head on your shoulders. :)

  17. My name starts with a K, but that’s pretty much the only thing I have in common with a Kardashian

  18. You go girl! We can disagree with how other young women live their lives and spend their time without tearing them down out of petty jealousy. I think you avoided this in your article entirely. I know girls and families similar to the Kardashians in their attitudes, if not their celeb status, so I know how you feel!

  19. I think you meant this to be light-hearted and funny, but this post strikes me as going against Hello Giggles’ mission : ” hellogiggles.com is the ultimate entertainment destination for smart, independent and creative females. Everything hosted on the site will be lady-friendly…” Yes, the Kardashians are a bit frivolous and they are definitely not like my family, but I think it’s a bit unfair to call them out on Botox, wearing clothes that are too small, and wearing bathing suits that are also too small. I don’t think it’s “lady-friendly” to make fun of women for clothing choices or getting Botox or “having a mean girl mom.” I would hope that smart, independent women wouldn’t feel the need to tear other women down.

    • Hi Ruby,
You’re a very smart girl and wise beyond your years! At 11, I don’t think I thought about how girls were portrayed in the media, although, we didn’t have Twitter, Facebook, or Hello Giggles back then ;)

I don’t think you meant any hate at all. I’m not a Kardashian fan, I don’t watch their show (I read the recaps here on HG), so I’m really not offended that you don’t like the way they act or what they do. In fact, I don’t think they make the best choices either (Khloe’s DUI, Kim and Kourtney’s childishness, etc.), but I don’t think it’s okay to rag on someone for how they dress or deciding to have plastic surgery. I have no idea if the Kardashians are smart, but I do know they are savvy and their reality show is probably their best marketing tool (those bad scenes help them out a lot!). You’re right to question them on not portraying girls in the best light, because they don’t. I agree 100% about that and I think that would make a great addition to your list.

When girls write about other girls, it tends to seem catty and I think that’s what I thought I was picking up here. You’re right, I should have double checked where I was (Hello Giggles) and realized that Zooey, Molls, and Sophia know what’s up and that you were joking.

    • i see what you are saying, but i do not think you understood what i ment. i mean no hate. but i am saying they dont really potray girls well. my friend, Tyler, thinks girls in their 30′s are crazy because of them. i still love all girls, i honestly hate no-one, i am just joking ,but i think maybe girls could potray themselves better. this would not have been posted if it was not ok. i am sure they are smart, but they only show bad scenes. i never ment to make people mad or have any offence.
